The death of Buchi Emecheta came as a rude shock to many people. The African writer who was born to the family of Alice Okwuekwuhe Emecheta and Jeremy Nwabudinke died in London yesterday, January 25 at the age of 72. She was an African writer who was known for her numerous focused on Africa and African women. Her works will always be revered in African literature even though she lived the latter part of her life in Britain. The author of the book ‘The joys of motherhood’ had over 20 books in her name.
